“The definitive guide to the Long and Medium Wave bands”

Medium Wave Radio Website:
Help and Information

About the Site

Welcome to this latest version of the MWR website! Our goal was to design a site that makes it easy to find, read about, and use new ideas and resources for anything connected with MW/LW DX-ing.

We do test this site on several browsers: Internet Explorer 5, 6 and 7, and Safari for Mac and Windows, Netscape 4.5 and up (including Netscape 7 and Mozilla based browsers) for Mac and Windows. We also check how things look in the Opera browser. We have chosen to use standards based code, XHTML/CSS and therefore the site looks best in those browsers that support the standards (version 5 and higher of the above mentioned browsers). However, it is still usable and all the content is accessible, in older browsers, even text-based browsers such as Lynx. We recognize that it may look slightly different in your browser depending on which one you use and what default settings you are using. If you experience any problems viewing this site you are invited to contact the webmaster via the Contact Form.

The entire site is now searchable from the index page and this includes the sub-domains that are based here, as well. You can even choose how the site displays in your chosen browser by clicking on the "radio buttons" on the index page.

This site is very much a work in progress. If you have any suggestions for making the site easier to navigate and use, or for additional features, send them to the the webmaster via the secure Contact Form and further information is available to read in the Accessability Statement.

Site Design

We have chosen a design that is centered in your browser and will always retain the navigation at the very top of your screen of your screen. Version information and contact details can be found in the "footer" of each page. To return to the index page click on the Medium Wave Radio logo at the top of every page.

PHP has been used in this version of the website and the pages are written in XHTML and CSS. An Image Gallery has been included with this version, currently their two galleries, one containing a display of old QSL Cards dating from the 1960s and a second one containing images of a vintage radio collection. You can enlarge the images by choosing the picture size at the top of the gallery pages. Many thanks to Ge Huijbens, (Beffe, Belgium) and Ken Baird, (Scotland) respectively, for supplying the images.

All of the links to other sites will open a new window in your browser by placing your mouse over the link a message will be shown advising you of this. Other links will display "tool tip" information. The links are checked on a regular basis, but if you do find one that is broken please report it to the Webmaster.

If you "bookmark" or save this site in your "favorites" a "favicon" will be allocated to make it easier for you to find the MWR site.
