The On-line Receiver

A new help file for users of the On-line Receiver is available to download, click on the link in the side panel...

This site is also the permament home of the On-line Receiver. Please note that the receiver is currently being moved to a new location and will not be availabe for approximately ten days. The new location has the potential for better DX reception and has a much lower background noise. The Perth receiver has now also been re-located and will be placed on-line next week. 14th February.

This site is also the permament home of the On-line Receiver, which will be joined by a second receiver located to the north of Perth in Western Australia this year.
A live view of the (UK) receiver is now available for visitors to see. Please click here. Up-date 23rd November. This is now cross browser compatible! Click here for browser images.

Information

Are you interested in Medium Wave (AM) and/or Long Wave DX-ing, but not interested in joining a specialist club? Then you have come to the right place!

Here at Medium Wave Radio we believe that information should be freely available so no need to join expensive subscription based boring old radio clubs that take your money and offer little in return, or pay for station listings either and as a bonus there is no need to wade through columns of useless adverts on this site.

This site is being developed as the premier source for information about the radio spectrum from 50 kHz up to 2010 kHz. We have recently added a comprehensive world wide listing of long wave broadcasting stations and the medium wave frequency listings will be rolled out over the coming months. To co-inside with the launch of the second On-line Receiver we will be publishing the first edition of our down-loadable quarterly magazine "BANDSPREAD", this winter. More information

The Galleries

A collection of QSL Cards, dating from the 1960s, from stations that broadcast in the Medium Wave band can be found in the galleries, as well as some images of a Vintage Radio Collection.

Sub Domains

Some of the sub-domains that were hosted on the circle server are now hosted here. These include Ken's Trans-Atlantic DX which now has a section of historical radio recordings, including a rare recording of Radio Scotland's final broadcasts in 1967. Ken now has a new site dedicated to the new Perseus Receiver perseus.mediumwaveradio.org, which contains a lot of useful information for anyone contemplating buying one of these receivers, including a comparison of the audio from a variety of receivers. David Tower's excellent MSF and Low Frequency site is also hosted here.

Historical Recordings

We offer a range of Historical Radio Recordings to download and will shortly be opening our on-line secure store in order to offer you a further range of Historical Radio Recordings which will be available on CD. The store is currently in showcase mode to allow you to view products.
